Mark Tanner receives honors from Augustana College

85 Augustana students were honored recently at the Recognition of Student Honors Program. The annual ceremony highlights exceptional students from various academic departments through scholarships and awards.

Mark Tanner was awarded with the award from the Chemistry department at Augustana College. The award is sponsored by the Taylor & Francis Group, LLC in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement in chemistry. It is awarded to the highest ranked chemistry or biochemistry major in the general chemistry courses. Tanner was also awarded with the American Chemical Society Organic Chemistry Achievement Award from the Chemistry department. The award is sponsored by the joint education committee of the American Chemical Society divisions of Polymer Chemistry and Polymeric Materials: Science and Engineering for outstanding achievement in organic chemistry. It is awarded to the top-performing chemistry or biochemistry major in the organic chemistry courses. Tanner is a junior from Sleepy Hollow, IL majoring in pre-medicine and biochemistry.
