Founded in 1860, Augustana College is a selective four-year residential college of the liberal arts and sciences. Augustana is recognized for the innovative program Augie Choice, which provides each student up to $2,000 to pursue a high-impact learning experience such as study abroad, an internship or research with a professor. Current students and alumni include 165 Academic All-Americans, two Nobel laureates, 13 college presidents and other distinguished leaders. Augustana student production of "Gross Indecency"

This year's Play Production class will stage the drama "Gross Indecency," about Oscar Wilde's trials on charges of sodomy. The production is the student-directed culmination with performances taking place March 18-20 in Bergendoff Hall's Black Box Theatre.

To conclude their Midwest tour, the Augustana Symphonic band will return home to perform the music they traveled with on their annual performance tour. The concert will take place on March 12 at 8 p.m. in Centennial Hall.

After a beautiful tour of California, the Augustana Choir will return home to share the music they created while on their annual performance tour. The concert will take place on March 11 at 8 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA.

He performed Paule Maurice's "Tableaux de Provence", among others. He was accompanied by Rachel Auton on trombone, Sarah Bromberger on oboe, and by alto saxophone Elijah Olson.

Augustana students participated in gripping theatre production of 'Machinal'

The Augustana theatre season's theme of Crime and Justice was fully present in this powerful expressionistic drama about a young woman in the 1920s, whose limitations and restrictions ultimately pushed her to commit a horrible crime. Machinal, which means "automatic" or "mechanical" in French, is based loosely on the murder trial of Ruth Snyder and her lover. This show was presented in Potter Theatre within Bergendoff Hall of Fine Arts (3701 7th Avenue) on October 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. and October 18 and 25 at 1:30 p.m.

Flute choir selections included, "The Last Rose of Summer", a traditional Irish song and "Tag!" by David L. Wells, among others. Clarinet Choir selections included "Argentine" by David Bennett and "Klezmer Jam" by Valentin Hude, among others.

Six Augustana seniors performed in a Seniors' recital on Sunday, May 10 in Wallenberg Hall. Selections included "Regnava nel silenzio" by Gaetano Donizetti, sung by soprano Emily Webb, and "Rhapsody for Euphonium" by James Carrow, played by Gabrielle Potter, among others. Students were accompanied by Charles Schmidt and Robert Elfline on piano.

Augustana seniors Elizabeth Lundine, an instrumental music education major of Villa Park, Ill. and Lorraine Stamberger, a geography and environmental studies major of La Moille, Ill. performed in their student recital on Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Wallenberg Hall. Their selections included Ludwig van Beethoven's "Sonaten in G Major für Klavier und Violine Op. 30, Nr. 3" and "Zwei Konzertetüden, S.145" by Franz Liszt. Lundine played violin, Stamberger played violin and they were accompanied by Mary Neil on piano.

The Augustana Chamber Singers performed their spring concert on Sunday, April 19 in Wallenberg Hall. Seventeen student musicians shared their talent with the Augustana community. Selections included "Dobbin's Flowery Vale" arranged by Rachel Lindley and "World of Sports" by Anders Edenroth, among others. This performance was in conjunction with the Wennerberg Men's Chorus Festival with Matt Oltman which was made possible by the generous support from the Meredith Foundation.

Augustana sophomore, Nathan Payne, an English major of Ottumwa, Iowa, performed a student piano recital on Saturday, April 18 in Wallenberg Hall. He performed Frederic Chopin's "Scherzo No. 3 in C-sharp minor, Op. 39" and "Three Intermezzi, Op. 117" by Johannes Brahms, among others.
